Stability Analysis of Soil Flow Protector and Design Method for Estimating Optimal Length

Underground cavities can develop below structures, leading to ground settlement and hindering the development of urban infrastructure. Soil flow protectors (SFPs) have been developed prevent alleviate problems due formation such cavities. In this study, we performed scaled model experiments a design method for an SFP with adequate safety factor under different installation lengths its upper lower parts in sandy ground. The reduced average surface ratio range 0.44–0.72, thus demonstrating effectiveness reducing settlement. addition, proposed relational equation determining optimal length ratio. An analysis influencing factors showed that part influenced reduction, whereas stability depending on Finally, presented flowchart method. results study serve as basis efficient construction
